Seething Wells Residence Halls, Surbiton, Kingston, Scavenger hunt of Central London

Seething Wells Residence Halls

We landed in England on July 3, 2013. We settled into our residence halls which were located at Seething Wells in Surbiton.  Seething Wells dorms were in the form of "blocks."  There were three floors in each building, each with about four flats on each floor. In each flat there was one kitchen and six dorms rooms, each with their own twin bed, desk, and bathroom. There was one student to each room, and some of the flats were coed, although most were just females. (Out of the approximately 180 students there, about 140 of them were females).  The faculty shared their own flat in one of the blocks.
The rooms each had an ethernet port, and wifi could only be obtained at the common area which was a short walk across the yard. This is also where the laundry room and front desk were located.

Surbiton

Seething Wells is located in Surbiton, and it is about a twenty minute walk to campus along River Thames. Kingston is about a half hour walk away, and the train station is about ten.
The first day we arrived, some of us walked around Surbiton and explored Kingston over the next couple days.

Kingston Town Centre is about thirty minutes walk from our residence halls. This is where a lot of pubs, restaurants, shopping (including a mall and outdoor food market) are located. During orientation, we went on a walking tour of Kingston.

Scavenger Hunt in Central London

The first Saturday after we arrived in England (July 6), we went on a scavenger hunt around London. This was our first time making our way around the city. We were given different places to take pictures in front of, and were required to use the underground tube system, train, DLR and the buses.
