Hampton Court Palace
Our first field trip for our British Culture and Society class was on Monday, July 8, 2013 and was to Hampton Court Palace. We took a boat along the River Thames to get there. Some of the Palace was built during the Tudor period, while other parts are from the Stuart period. The inside is elaborately decorated and all the rooms are guarded and protected. When light comes through the window, a motion sensor picks up on it and the blinds have to be closed to preserve the furniture and artwork. All the rooms are set up as they would have been in the 18th century.

The London Eye
One night a group of us went into Central London and rode the London Eye. The London Eye is a huge Ferris Wheel with enclosed glass capsules. We went to the last ride of the night at 9:30 pm so we could get a view of the city as the sun was setting.
